I don’t think I’d compare a Mustang to a mid-engine supercar. Read more

to be fair the base model wrangler is overkill for what the majority of people consider “off roading” So while the gladiator may only be 85% or 90% as good as the wrangler it will go further than most owners bravery levels. Read more

The latest gen Xterra is honestly not holding up to the test of time. They have a lot of reliability issues, if you want a rugged SUV and can’t stand the thought of a Stellantis product, you’re just better off with a 4 runner. Which is a shame, because Xterras have a charm and a character to them that 4 runners dont.  Read more

That dash looks absurd, but overall, I think costs were cut in the right places. It looks premium for the segment. It is a far more attractive package than most crossovers starting in the mid $20k range. Read more

Not in the garage but taking a bus tour together to see the 1985 Indy 500 was the best car-based moment. The first green lap, seeing 30 cars still in tight formation ripping past you at 200mph makes the hair on your neck stand up. It’s nothing like TV and drives home the absolute brass balls (for men and women) it Read more

Yep, the pedestrian had clearly started walking on the crosswalk before the Tesla reached it with time for it to safely apply the brakes. I suspect the FSD algorithm may simply ignore the side of the crosswalk that is not in the lane of the moving vehicle or the camera image reconstruction failed to recognize the full Read more

Others have ably beat me to this, but this is such a colossally bad take that I must pile on. If you think this is how driving through crosswalks works, please surrender your license and get re-tested. Read more

I wonder what those big yellow signs with the arrow pointing to the crosswalk means? And that one in the center with the image of a pedestrian with a...what’s it called again...YIELD sign above it mean?? The mind boggles!!

There’s still time to take this post down, Karen. Your village wants their idiot back...

The poster made it sound like the pedestrian entered the crosswalk when the car was already passing through, but that is clearly not the case. The pedestrian entered the crosswalk before the Tesla, so a stop is required. The Tesla blows the stop. No argument to be had. Read more

Good try buddy! But breaking the law isn't any more special for an AI then it would be for you. Well I guess that's not really true, but you get the idea. Read more

It is state law to yield to pedestrians in a crosswalk. You can tell because there’s a sign clearly visible in the video that says exactly that. The Tesla failed to yield to the pedestrian in the crosswalk, breaking the law. So it either didn’t know, or it did know and broke the law anyway. Those are the only two Read more

It’s straight-up illegal. You must yield to pedestrians in crosswalks — as in stopping your car. In particular, if this were a kid, you can’t predict that they won’t suddenly speed up. The purpose of yielding is that you don’t have to deal with the what ifs. Read more

I’m riffing off something I read elsewhere but, a world where AI gets to write poetry and paint pictures all day while I get run over by autonomous vehicles on my way to a minimum wage job is not the future I was promised. Read more
